Make Music New
York is a
unique festival of free
concerts in public
spaces throughout the
five boroughs of New
York City. All of the
performances take place
annually on June 21st,
the first day of summer
and longest day of the
year.

1pm to 2pm
Isadora Benitez
& Gabriel Hermida
Duo
Isadora
Benitez is a New
York-based
vocalist-guitarist whose
work is deeply
engagement in jazz
inflections, and
sensually-styled by her
sassy Latin roots and
love of Brazilian music.
Born into an Ecuadorian
family devoted to the
arts, Isadora grew up
among gifted musicians,
actors, and writers. She
received her Bachelors
and her Master’s degree
in Jazz Vocal
Performance. Isadora has
performed over a
thousand shows in South
America, New York, and
across the U.S. Her
current music project
“Swing-Brazil” mixes
Brazilian music with
Jazz manouche.
2pm to 3pm
Jean Ramirez
is a New York-based
vocalist and songwriter.
While honing her craft
as a vocalist in San
Francisco, Jean delved
into the world of jazz
vocals. Her deep love of
music and exploration of
various music genres are
apparent in her eclectic
and adventuresome
repertoire spanning from
Jazz, to World Music, to
the Great American
Songbook, to Bossa Nova,
and to popular music. As
a performer, Jean
strives to integrate her
love of beautiful
melodies, lyrical
expression, and strong
rhythmic sensibilities
in music making.
3pm to 3:30pm
Jay Greengold
has played at Make Music
New York over the past
five years. Off to the
Cali School of Music in
Fall 2023, Jay is
involved in all things
music - including
musical drama
productions, marching
band, and jazz jams. As
a trumpet player, he has
been a consistent member
of the Nassau-Suffolk
Jazz Band, All-County
festivals, and the Jazz
at Lincoln Center High
School Jazz Academy.
3:30pm to 4pm
Victoria Anine
Waples was born
and raised in the
beautiful hills of
Upstate New York. Her
music is inspired by the
natural surroundings of
her youth, her love of
all things “Lord of the
Rings,” and musical
references that range
from classical and
metal, to feel good pop.
As an artist her mission
is to spread music that
uplifts and inspires
people.
4:30pm to 5pm
Misophonic
Ensemble
Solo
electronic project of
Jason Malmström. This
will be Jason’s 7th year
playing at Make Music
New York. His
performance includes a
small collection of drum
machines & synths,
with some added bells
& whistles
(percussion &
melodica). Beat-heavy,
but not overly
aggressive. A bit
pre-planned, a bit
improv.
5pm to 6pm
YuRong Yu –
“Annie” is a
professional Chinese
singer of traditional
and popular Chinese and
American songs. Annie
has performed in China
in Shanghai and Huainan
City. In New York, she
has performed at
Flushing Town Hall,
Flushing Library and at
Make the Music New York
in Manhattan’s
Chinatown. Through her
soft vocals, she
captures the essence and
feelings of the Chinese
culture through love
songs and memories of
China’s simple life.
Adding American popular
songs to her repertoire,
she hopes to bring those
same feelings to an
American audience.
